Part of the Gay Chicago Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Chicago, Illinois
Boystown's gay sports bar since 1983 — pool tables and game-day TVs.
The North End has been Chicago's neighborhood gay sports bar since 1983, sitting at the north end of the Halsted strip in Northalsted. Four pool tables, three dartboards and TVs tuned to whatever game's on make it the spot to catch the Bears or Cubs without leaving the gayborhood — there are pool and dart leagues you can join, free pool on Mondays, and free popcorn at the bar. The vibe is no-attitude, dog-friendly and budget-minded, with a solid beer selection and DJs spinning rock most nights. The crowd is regulars-heavy and sports-first, a different animal from the dance clubs further down the strip — the place you come to watch the game, shoot pool and actually hear the person next to you.
