Chicago, Illinois
Chicago's leather and Levi bar in Rogers Park since 1977.
Touché has been a Chicago leather bar since 1977, when it first opened on North Lincoln Avenue. Now at 6412 North Clark Street in Rogers Park under longtime owner Chuck Rodocker, it's one of the city's longest-running gay bars and a regular co-sponsor of Chicago's leather contests. The front room is built for regulars, with pool, darts, and draft beer, while the dimly lit back section, complete with a steel cage, gives the bar its reputation. The crowd skews leather, bear, and kink-friendly, but the door is open wider than that: seasoned players and the simply curious both find their footing here. Themed nights rotate through leather and bear events across the calendar. It sits a good distance north of the Northalsted strip, so it draws people who come specifically for it rather than passing foot traffic, which is part of why the room feels like its own tight community.
