Neighborhoods·Orlando Gay Guide

What is the Gay Neighborhood in Orlando?

Orlando's LGBTQ+ scene is spread across several interconnected neighborhoods rather than concentrated in a single gayborhood. The main hubs are Thornton Park, Mills 50, and the Church Street corridor downtown.

Thornton Park & Mills 50

East of downtown, Thornton Park (centered around Washington Street and Summerlin Avenue near Lake Eola) has a strong LGBTQ+ resident population with walkable cafes, boutiques, and restaurants. Just north along North Orange Avenue, Ivanhoe Village is home to Savoy Orlando and a mix of LGBTQ+-friendly businesses. The adjacent Milk District (around Bumby Avenue and East South Street) hosts Southern Nights Orlando, the city's flagship gay nightclub, along with District Dive and Stiffy's Orlando in the same venue complex.

Church Street & Downtown

The Church Street area downtown is anchored by Anthem Orlando (100 N Orange Ave), the city's newest LGBTQ+ venue. (Two longtime Church Street fixtures have closed: Hamburger Mary's relocated to Old Town in Kissimmee in 2026, and Stonewall Bar shut down.) Lake Eola Park, just east of downtown, is the heart of Orlando's annual Pride celebration.

Pulse Memorial

The Orlando Health Pulse Memorial Paver Garden at 1912 S Orange Ave honors the 49 victims of the June 12, 2016 tragedy; the site was designated the National Pulse Memorial in 2021.
