Barcode is a dive-y gay bar on Fairview Street in Montrose, tucked just behind JR's and South Beach in the heart of the gayborhood. Formerly TC's, it kept the compact, unfussy layout — a small indoor bar and stage with an outdoor patio — and leaned into being the loud, local, less-polished option on a strip full of bigger rooms. The week is built around karaoke and drag: singers take the mic earlier in the week, drag shows take over midweek and on weekend nights, and regulars turn out for staples like drag bingo and a Tuesday male strip contest. It's a good pick when you want cheap drinks and a come-as-you-are crowd rather than a dance-club production — the kind of neighborhood bar where the same faces show up every week.
