Men-only gay sauna in a Victorian mill basement in Ancoats
Basement is a men-only gay sauna on Tariff Street in Ancoats, a short walk north of Piccadilly station, set in the basement of an old Victorian mill. Inside you'll find a dry sauna, a steam room and two spa pools, plus a large dark area with private cabins. There's a licensed bar on site that takes cash or card. It's a membership venue: first-timers pay a small annual membership fee on top of entry and need to bring physical photo ID (passport, driving licence or national ID card; photos and photocopies aren't accepted). Entry is 18+, and your belongings need to fit in the locker provided. The sauna, which bills itself as Manchester's only male gay sauna, runs late on Friday and Saturday nights through to the next morning, and its regular hours don't apply over Manchester Pride weekend.
