Bayou is a small New Orleans-themed gay bar on the Santa Monica Boulevard strip, leaning dive rather than club: neon signs, Mardi Gras decor, and some of the cheapest pours in West Hollywood. There's no cover, a Cajun-leaning kitchen (think Andouille and cornbread), and a friendly, no-attitude room that reads more corner bar than scene. It's the low-key, intimate alternative to the bigger high-energy rooms a few doors down, a place to actually hear the person next to you. DJs and drag turn up through the week, but the draw is the easygoing crowd and the cheap drinks. Good first or last stop on a WeHo night.
