Part of the Gay Atlanta Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Atlanta, Georgia
Midtown's beloved gay bar and restaurant overlooking Piedmont Park.
Blake's on the Park has been Midtown's neighborhood gay bar for more than 35 years, sitting at 227 10th Street directly across from Piedmont Park. It's equal parts bar, patio, and stage, with karaoke, drag, and themed nights through the week and a front patio facing the park that's prime for people-watching on one of the gayborhood's busiest corners. The crowd is mixed and welcoming, skewing local but easy for a visitor to fall into, and Sundays in particular pack the place. It makes a dependable anchor to start or stay a night in Midtown: less of a circuit-club scene than X across the street, more of a see-and-be-seen sidewalk hang in the heart of the gayborhood.
