Part of the Gay Halifax Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Halifax, Nova Scotia
Women-owned brunch spot and specialty coffee bar near the Public Gardens.
Bliss Caffeine Bar is a women-owned brunch spot and coffee bar in Halifax's South End, near the Public Gardens. All beans come from Java Blend, a local Halifax roaster operating since 1938, and co-owner Jenna trained directly with Java Blend's owner on traditional Italian preparation. The signature "Xtra Caffeinated" blend mixes robusta and arabica for a high-intensity cup. The food side is driven by co-owner Michelle, a pastry chef with a following in Halifax — expect a full brunch menu alongside her baked goods. It's a proper sit-down restaurant that happens to take coffee seriously, not a grab-and-go cafe. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 8am–4pm.
