St. Petersburg, Florida
Clothing-optional men's guesthouse in a 1928 St. Pete home.
Casa del Merman at GayStPete House is a clothing-optional, men-focused guesthouse set in a 1928 home that a railroad executive built on what was then the edge of St. Petersburg. Owner Brian Longstreth bought the property in 2000 and opened it as GayStPete House in 2008, renaming it Casa del Merman in 2009 after the 120-plus merman figurines scattered through the house. Six guest rooms, each named for a local beach, come with private baths and their own private entrances. Out back is a privately heated, clothing-optional pool, plus a hot tub and a sauna. It sits central, minutes from the bars and restaurants of the Grand Central District, but it plays as a private retreat rather than a party house — a quieter pick for travelers who want their own door and a pool to themselves.
