Part of the Gay Louisville Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Louisville, Kentucky
Laid-back LGBTQ+ bar on Bardstown Road with a patio and drag shows.
Chill Bar sits in a historic building on Bardstown Road in the Highlands, Louisville's most walkable nightlife stretch, and it's built around a large full-service patio that does a lot of the work on warm nights. Open since 2013, it runs as an easygoing neighborhood bar with featured DJs, trivia, and the occasional show-tune sing-along, under a "Y'all means ALL" welcome that pulls a mixed queer-and-ally crowd. It's the casual, come-as-you-are end of Louisville's gay nightlife rather than a drag-and-dance destination; drag turns up for special occasions more than every weekend. Good for a relaxed drink on the patio and an easy starting point on Bardstown Road, with Big Bar a short walk up the same street.
