Calgary, Alberta
Eccentric Inglewood brewery taproom with 200-plus beers and a pool-noodle ceiling
A craft brewery in Inglewood — Calgary's oldest neighborhood, historically known as "Brewery Flats" — with one of the city's most distinctive taprooms. The decor runs to pool noodles hanging from the ceiling, garden gnomes, a giant pineapple, and chesterfields that look like they came from your grandmother's basement. They've brewed over 200 beers since opening in 2016, from the flagship "This Must Be the IPA" to a birthday cake ale called Cakeface and a Saskatoon berry saison. The taproom is dog-friendly and bring-your-own-food (no kitchen due to the pet policy). Gender-neutral washrooms are standard. Cold Garden hosts the End of the Rainbow Foundation's annual Pride Patio Party, a fundraiser supporting Calgary's LGBTQ+ refugee resettlement program. Monday nights bring "Crafty Mondays" — a craft kit and a drink ticket for a low-key start to the week.
