Queer-owned Bowness taproom pouring 12 rotating taps from Canadian LGBTQ+ breweries
Rising Tides is a queer-owned craft taproom in Calgary's Bowness neighborhood, opened in 2022 by Ali Goulet and Katie McNeil. The 12 rotating taps prioritize women-, BIPOC-, and LGBTQ+-owned breweries from across Canada, alongside canned cocktails, wine, and a strong non-alcoholic selection. Food comes from rotating market vendors — sandwiches, samosa platters, charcuterie. The space has a bright, coastal-beach-house feel (think Tofino, not nightclub), and programming leans community: monthly Queer Community Care Coffee gatherings, Calgary Pride events, and a "Giving Wall" where customers direct $1 tokens to rotating local charities.
