Crocker is a no-frills neighborhood gay bar on its namesake street in Houston's Montrose district, and one of the anchors of the Crocker Street cluster. The layout is simple and it works: a central bar, a small dark dance floor with a stage, and a generous wraparound patio that does a lot of the heavy lifting on warm nights. Karaoke takes over Tuesdays and Thursdays; DJs run the weekends. The draw here is value and consistency. Extended happy-hour pricing runs into the evening on weekdays, and the bar is known for its dollar-vodka specials on Fridays and Sundays, which keep a loyal local crowd of regulars and Sunday Funday diehards coming back. It's not the place for a polished cocktail night, and it isn't trying to be — it's a dependable, unpretentious patio bar to start or settle into a Montrose evening.
