Lesbian-owned cocktail lounge in Lincoln's Uni Place, opened 2024
DAME is a lesbian-owned lounge that opened in late 2024 in Lincoln's University Place arts district, run by married couple Cassie and Tiffini Tate-Bailey. It moved into a small historic building, a former pottery studio of about 1,100 square feet, and built it around conversation rather than a dance floor: a 20-foot bar, couch seating, moody lighting, and a beer garden out back. After Lincoln's longtime queer bar Panic closed in 2020, DAME gave the city's LGBTQ+ scene a dedicated home again. The calendar leans social and welcoming rather than high-octane: Trivia Tuesdays hosted by a drag performer, Wednesday open-mic nights, recurring Sapphic Speed Dating, plus drag and burlesque shows, karaoke, and live music. It's the kind of place that works for a low-key date or for meeting people without shouting over a club, and it's become a clear gathering point for queer Lincoln.
