Part of the Gay Los Angeles Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Los Angeles, California
Silver Lake leather bar with beer busts and a cruisy back since 2006.
Eagle LA is the city's long-running leather bar, on Santa Monica Boulevard in Silver Lake well east of the WeHo strip. The address has been a gay bar since the late 1960s, the Shed, then the Outcast, then the leather landmark Gauntlet II, before reopening as Eagle LA in 2006. It serves the leather, bear, pup, uniform, and kink communities without losing the welcome for anyone curious. The layout is built for a crowd: a large patio, multiple rooms, three bars, a main stage, and pool tables. The Sunday Beer Bust at 2 PM is the weekly anchor, and BLUF LA runs on a Friday each month for the uniform set. No-frills and cruisy by design, come dressed for it or come to watch.
