Mexico City, State of Mexico
Roma Norte seafood spot with singing drag queens working the room.
El Sirenito is a Roma Norte marisquería that runs live drag alongside the seafood, reviving the old dinner-show format for a queer crowd. Aguachiles, ceviches, tostadas, and whole fish fillets come out of the kitchen while singing drag queens and transformistas work the tables, and a round of Mexican lotería keeps the room in on the act. What started on Avenida Oaxaca has grown into a small brand with seating across the city, including a run at the W hotel in Polanco. The crowd is LGBTQ+ but the door is open to everyone, families and pets included, which makes it a daytime-into-evening option rather than a club. Shows sell out, so the reservation (handled over Instagram) is worth sorting before you go. Good for a group dinner where the entertainment comes to the table instead of the other way around.
