Founded in 1973, Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is a professional regional theater in downtown Sarasota and one of the largest subscription theaters in the state. FST operates five performance spaces within a two-block radius on North Palm Avenue, staging everything from mainstage plays and cabaret musicals to experimental works like Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The theater attracts over 230,000 attendees annually and is home to the Sarasota Improv Festival.
