80s/90s pop gay bar with open-mic, stand-up, and bear-friendly DJs
Fraggel Pop is a Chueca gay bar with a retro-nostalgia identity built on '80s and '90s pop, cheap drinks, and a long list of specialty shots. It has run in the neighborhood for over a decade, and it absorbed the historic Buho Real space, so alongside the nightlife it keeps a genuine cultural calendar: open-mic nights, English-language stand-up comedy, poetry readings, Sunday micro-theater, and book presentations. The crowd leans bear and local, with resident DJs on weekends and a warm, social feel rather than a see-and-be-seen one. It's a good anchor if you want Chueca with a bit more substance than a straight shot of dance-floor pop, and a place where you can actually talk between sets.
