West Palm Beach LGBTQ+ bar since 1984, rebuilt after a 2020 fire
H.G. Roosters is an LGBTQ+ bar on Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, open since 1984. A fire destroyed the building in May 2020; owner AJ Wasson rebuilt it, and it reopened on May 19, 2025, five years to the day after the fire. In 2021 the City of West Palm Beach designated Roosters a historic site, one of only three gay bars in the US with that designation at the time, according to local coverage. It's open from 3 p.m. seven days a week, with a 4-to-7 social hour and something every night: Sunday karaoke, Monday bingo, Tuesday trivia, live music on alternating Wednesdays, a Thursday pool tournament, Kash Fergold's "Kash for the Crown" on Fridays and Melissa St. John's drag shows at 9 and 11 p.m. on Saturdays. The kitchen is known for its smash burger.
