Part of the Gay Fort Lauderdale Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Wilton Drive video bar and dance club with DJs since 1980.
Open on Wilton Drive since 1980, Hunters is one of the oldest continuously running gay nightspots in South Florida, and it's really two venues in one: a video bar with a wall of screens up front and a full dance club with a huge video wall in back, joined by an upstairs lounge that overlooks the floor. The calendar is the draw. Wednesday's Country & Western two-step and line-dance night is billed as the biggest gay line-dance event in the state, and the week fills in around it with Monday and Tuesday karaoke, Service Industry Night pricing for hospitality workers, cabaret, and a Sunday T-dance. The bar has taken SFGN's Best LGBTQ Bar honors many years running. No cover, a mixed and unpretentious crowd, and enough going on most nights that it works whether you want to dance or just post up at the video bar.
