New gay bar and bistro with a street terrace on Rue des Archives
Le Cactus is a small gay bar and bistro at 28 Rue des Archives, right on the busiest corner of the Marais. Its main asset is the little street terrace, well placed for people-watching across at the crowds spilling out of the bigger institutions opposite. Inside is compact, with a neon-lit bar pouring drinks alongside a short list of tapas. It's lower-key and less famous than its neighbors, which is exactly the appeal for some: a spot to claim a terrace seat, nurse a drink, and watch the gay Marais go by without the crush. Good as a first stop while you take the temperature of the night before deciding where to head next.
