Paris, Paris
Gay bar and club near Châtelet-Les Halles with drag shows and DJ sets
The Labo is a bar and club on Rue des Lombards, just west of the Marais near Chatelet, on a stretch better known for its jazz clubs. It took over the space that was previously the Paris Eagle and runs a broader program now: DJ sets, drag performances and themed parties across the week, with a terrace out front for the early hours and a club room that gets going later. The crowd is mixed and unpretentious, queer locals and visitors both. It sits slightly apart from the dense cluster of Marais bars, which gives it a bit more room and a less scene-y feel than the bars a few blocks east. Come for a cocktail and a DJ night, or for one of the drag and themed events that anchor the weekend. It's an easy, welcoming option if you want central Paris nightlife without the Marais crush.
