Part of the Gay Raleigh Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Raleigh, North Carolina
Raleigh's anchor LGBTQ+ nightclub in the Warehouse District since 1991.
Legends has anchored Raleigh's LGBTQ+ nightlife since 1991, a sprawling complex in the downtown Warehouse District that locals treat as the region's main event. Under one roof you'll find a large dance floor, a video bar, an outdoor patio, and the Spotlight Theater, which hosts drag shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Repeatedly voted the area's top LGBTQ+ venue, it regularly books RuPaul's Drag Race alumni for special events alongside recurring nights like Goth and Sunday burlesque. After more than three decades at 330 West Hargett Street, Legends is preparing to relocate a couple of blocks away to a larger home at 316 West Cabarrus Street, still in the Warehouse District, to secure its long-term future. That new space has been under construction with an opening targeted for mid-2026, so it is worth confirming the current address before you go. Either way, Legends remains the gravitational center of queer Raleigh, equal parts neighborhood institution and full-scale dance club, and an easy anchor for a night out in the Triangle.
