Paris, Paris
Underground LGBTQ rock club in vaulted cellars near Châtelet
Underground rock venue and self-described 'LGBTQ HQ' in vaulted cellars near Châtelet. Two rooms — K-1 and K-2 — sit beneath street level behind a graffiti-covered, constructivist-industrial interior with exposed stone arches, a stage, and a 250-person capacity. Live bands cycle through rock, metal, post-punk, goth, and electroclash, while the DJ program covers techno and drum & bass. The queer programming runs deep: DIVA, a monthly lesbian and queer party, takes over the first Saturday of each month, and Mental Queer and Afro Queer Rising Club hold regular dates. The address has hosted nightlife since 1983, when disco arrived under Limelight in cellars that had been a greengrocer and then a jazz club; the room later became Le Club (1985–2006), a foundational venue of Paris's butch movement. Open Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6 AM, with weeknight concerts on a rolling schedule.

The fast ferry from Boston is the classic, car-free way to arrive in Provincetown — 90 minutes across the bay, straight to MacMillan Wharf. Here's the complete guide: operators, schedules, tickets, plus the Plymouth boat, driving and flying.

Provincetown is famous for its nightlife, but the daytime is half the magic — gay beaches, whale watching, the Pilgrim Monument, dune tours and a historic art colony. Here's the complete guide to what to do in P-town beyond the bars.

Cherry Grove is where gay America summered before there was a word for it. Here's the complete guide to Fire Island's original queer hamlet — its history, its drag-soaked nightlife, where to stay and eat, the beach, and how it differs from the Pines next door.
