Paris, Paris
Underground LGBTQ rock club in vaulted cellars near Châtelet
Underground rock venue and self-described 'LGBTQ HQ' in vaulted cellars near Châtelet. Two rooms — K-1 and K-2 — sit beneath street level behind a graffiti-covered, constructivist-industrial interior with exposed stone arches, a stage, and a 250-person capacity. Live bands cycle through rock, metal, post-punk, goth, and electroclash, while the DJ program covers techno and drum & bass. The queer programming runs deep: DIVA, a monthly lesbian and queer party, takes over the first Saturday of each month, and Mental Queer and Afro Queer Rising Club hold regular dates. The address has hosted nightlife since 1971, including Le Club (1985–2006), a foundational venue of Paris's butch movement. Open Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6 AM, with weeknight concerts on a rolling schedule.
