Moeem is a compact lounge bar on Carrer de Muntaner, in the heart of Gayxample, and it works best as the place you start a night rather than end one. An L-shaped bar, a small dance floor, low drink prices, and a soundtrack of pop, reggaeton, and R&B pull a young, mostly gay-male crowd of university students and twenty-somethings warming up before the bigger clubs nearby. The energy is friendly and flirty more than cruisy, and regular nights give it a rhythm: a Thursday LGBTQ+ after-work with snacks and drink deals, and a Sunday bingo. If you're new to the neighborhood and want an easy, low-stakes first stop where people are actually talking to each other, Moeem is a safe bet.
