AHF thrift shop on Cedar Springs funding HIV/AIDS care.
Out of the Closet is an AIDS Healthcare Foundation thrift store on Cedar Springs Road in Oak Lawn, Dallas's gay neighborhood. It opened in April 2014 as the first Out of the Closet in Texas, selling secondhand clothing, accessories and household goods, with 96 cents of every dollar going back into AHF's HIV/AIDS services and clinics. The shop pairs the thrift floor with a full-service AHF pharmacy and free HIV testing under one roof, so a bargain hunt doubles as access to care. It sits among the bars, restaurants and shops along the Strip, and a steady flow of donations keeps the racks turning over for anyone willing to dig.
