About Oz New Orleans

Oz has been one of New Orleans' premier gay dance clubs since 1993, holding down the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann opposite the Bourbon Pub—the two venues together mark where the Quarter's gay block begins. The main floor is built around the dance floor, with a stage for go-go dancers and drag, while the second level opens onto a balcony that looks down over Bourbon Street. Programming runs essentially every night and mixes resident drag productions with DJ sets, and the calendar regularly stretches to bingo, karaoke, and burlesque depending on the night. Along with the Bourbon Pub across the street, Oz is one of the two anchor venues for Southern Decadence weekend, when the St. Ann corner becomes one of the busiest in the city. It's the high-energy end of gay New Orleans—go here when you want the dance floor and the show, not a quiet drink.
