Poodle Beach is Rehoboth Beach's gay beach, at the southern end of the mile-long boardwalk near Queen Street — walk the boardwalk south until it ends and keep going. Delaware's tourism office calls it the official gay beach and describes the town as a long-standing draw for gay men from Washington, Philadelphia and Baltimore. It is a textile beach. The city scheduled a Poodle Beach historical marker unveiling for October 29, 2026. There are no facilities on the sand itself, so bring what you need; the boardwalk a few minutes north has restrooms, food and drinks. Parking is metered street spots and paid lots nearby, and the city's paid-parking season starts May 15. Dogs are banned from the beach and boardwalk May 15 through September 15. June through August is peak; May and September are quieter with the town still open.
