Barcelona, Barcelona
Kitsch-themed Gayxample bar famous for the Priscilla Bingo drag show.
Priscilla Cafè takes its name and its look from the 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: a kitsch-pop bar on Carrer del Consell de Cent in the Gayxample, run by the Believe Group (the same people behind Pink Corner). It works as a café-bar through the day, with coffee, tapas, pizza and cocktails, then turns over to themed nights after dark. The signature event is the Priscilla Bingo Show, a midday drag-and-bingo lunch run by the Reinas del Desierto with three performers, food and a raffle. The register here is fun and mixed rather than cruisy, an easy daytime or early-evening stop in the heart of the gay district before the late clubs peak. Expect neon, retro posters and a crowd that's there for the show as much as the drinks. A good pick if you want drag and a laugh built into a sit-down meal rather than a 2 a.m. dance floor.
