Columbia, South Carolina
Columbia's longest-running drag venue in the Vista district
PT's 1109 has been Columbia's home for drag since 2001, which makes it the capital city's longest-running drag venue. Set in the Vista on Assembly Street, it runs shows most nights of the week with a rotating cast of queens and kings, and hands Sundays over to karaoke with longtime host Kevin Snow. Free Times has named it among the area's best gay bars. The room is no-frills and affordable, and the crowd reflects it — a steady mix of University of South Carolina students and locals who come for the performance rather than the polish. In a city with only a couple of gay bars left, PT's is the one built around the stage, and it remains the center of live drag and queer performance in South Carolina's capital.
