Seattle, Washington
Queer/Bar opened in 2017 on Capitol Hill's 11th Avenue and quickly established itself as the neighborhood's home base for drag — the kind of bar where the programming is taken seriously and the performers are treated accordingly. The space is built around a long catwalk-style stage that puts the queens front and center, and the shows reflect that intention: tight casts, polished production, and a consistent mix of local Seattle talent alongside touring queens from RuPaul's Drag Race. Several alumni — including Bosco, Irene the Alien, and Arrietty — came up performing here before heading to the main stage. Beyond drag, Queer/Bar keeps the week alive with karaoke, burlesque, bingo, and DJ nights that shift the room from theater to dance floor depending on the hour. The food menu, built around Sunset Fried Chicken sandwiches, is genuinely worth ordering — chicken tenders and a fruity cocktail before the show is a combination that works. Seating is limited on busy nights, so reserving a booth in advance for weekend shows is worth the effort. The venue is fully inclusive in dress code and crowd, welcoming everything from harnesses to heels, and has become a Pride epicenter in the neighborhood, hosting some of Capitol Hill's most-attended outdoor events each year.
