Madrid, Spain
Chueca gay-friendly club for Madrid's 20-something electronic crowd.
Sala Republik Club has established itself as a small but energetic destination for Madrid's younger club crowd, particularly those aged 20-26. This two-story venue positions itself proudly as a gay-friendly club—celebrating diversity and authenticity without limiting itself to any single demographic. The club's programming revolves around electronic music, primarily techno, trance, and electro house, with resident and international DJs keeping the sound quality high despite the intimate upstairs space. While small, the acoustics are reportedly excellent, and the strong drinks help fuel the dance floor energy that builds after midnight. Republik hosts a rotating schedule of themed parties that have become fixtures on Madrid's LGBTQ+ nightlife calendar: Kabaret 3.0 on Sunday nights, El PutiClub de Charlotte on Fridays, Teddybear for the bear community, Toro's two-room parties with pop/hits and house, and the Thursday night Be Yourself party featuring house and pop that attracts a mixed gay crowd. During Pride week, the club goes all out with six consecutive nights of parties featuring go-go dancers, drag performers, and stacked DJ lineups. The venue programs "Family Republik" Wednesday through Friday and Sundays for a more inclusive party vibe, while Saturday nights bring "Club Republik" with a more intense club energy. Open every day except Tuesday, usually from around 11pm until 6am. Entry typically runs €15 and includes drinks, though arriving before 2am on some nights means free entry. The club's central location makes it easily accessible from metro stops Gran Vía and Tribunal.
