Barcelona, Barcelona
Spain's largest gay sauna at 1,400 sqm — pool, fetish areas, and open 24/7
Sauna Casanova is the largest gay sauna in Spain — roughly 1,400 square meters spread over three floors on Carrer de Casanova, in the middle of the Gaixample, Barcelona's gay quarter. It's the flagship of the Grupo Pases chain, which also runs Condal in the Gothic Quarter and Thermas a few blocks away, and a renovation has kept the facility feeling current rather than dated. Inside you'll find a swimming pool, a large jacuzzi, a dry sauna and steam room, a fetish zone with a sling, a basement maze of cubicles, a video room, private cabins, and a bar. Open around the clock, Casanova behaves more like a late-night club than a spa: the energy peaks in the small hours, especially on weekend mornings as the clubs let out and the crowd drifts over. For a traveler it's the safe default — the biggest, busiest, and most central of the city's saunas, and an easy place to land if you only have one night for it.
