LGBTQ+ bar and drag venue in Dalston from The Glory's creative team
The Divine is a two-floor LGBTQ+ bar and performance venue in Dalston, opened in February 2024 by Jonny Woo, John Sizzle, and Colin Rothbart — the team behind The Glory, which closed days earlier when its building was slated for redevelopment. The Divine is its successor, carrying over the programming that made The Glory a launchpad for East London drag. Street level is the bar; the basement holds a stage with room for around 200, and on Friday and Saturday the whole place turns into a two-floor club from 9pm. Drag runs most nights. The competitions that came over from The Glory anchor the calendar — LIPSYNC1000 and Man Up, the drag king battle — alongside monthly bills like Top of the Slops, Werk In Progress, and The Weakest Twink, plus Princess Julia's Sunday Sermon. It's well outside Soho, in the queer heart of Dalston, and worth the trip east for anyone who wants their drag with an edge.
