Denver, Colorado
Denver's only lesbian bar is a BIPOC-led sapphic space with a genuinely special backstory. Co-owners Ashlee Cassity and Dom Garcia launched their first iteration, Pearl Divers, in late 2024 to fill the void left by the closure of Blush & Blu — Colorado's longest-running lesbian bar. After quickly outgrowing that original spot, they moved into the beloved former home of Mercury Café in the Five Points neighborhood, a space that had been a cultural institution for Denverites for half a century. Renaming it The Pearl, they've honored that history while making it unmistakably their own. The bar spans several distinct rooms — including the Rose Room, the Jungle, and the upstairs Warehouse — each with its own vibe, from mellow and intimate to full-on dancefloor energy. The programming is stacked, with swing dancing, Latin dance classes, open mic nights, karaoke, and themed parties keeping the calendar busy throughout the week. Southern-inspired bar bites round out the experience, and the space is welcoming to all — though it's built first and foremost for lesbians, sapphics, and the broader queer community that's been showing up in force since day one.
