Greeneville, Tennessee
Clothing-optional men's camping resort on 189 Appalachian acres, open 365 days since 1978
Timberfell Lodge is a membership-only, clothing-optional camping resort for men, exclusively for the 21-and-older crowd in its own words, in the foothills of the Appalachians outside Greeneville, in northeast Tennessee between Knoxville and Asheville. It has operated since 1978 on 189 acres and is open 365 days a year. The gender policy on its own site is one line: all male members are welcome. Every area of the property except the inside dining room is clothing optional. Membership is $20 per person per calendar year with ID verified at check-in, and day passes are $20. There are 72 cabins and rooms including the historic lodge, RV sites with 30- and 50-amp service, water and sewer that the resort calls big-rig friendly, and tent sites with electric and water. Rates are quoted through the booking engine rather than a posted card; midweek rooms and cabins are discounted. Weekends have a two-night minimum and holidays three. The resort runs a restaurant and bar in the lodge, a pool, a sauna and steam room, a dance club, the Brooks Stage for shows, about two miles of hiking, golf carts and a shuttle. Named weekends on the 2026 calendar include Gay Gaymes in May, Mr. Timberfell in August, Silver Foxes in September, OctoBEARfest, Rocky Horror, Illumination and Friendsgiving. Pets are $10 a day, leashed, with no aggressive breeds.

We verified 32 LGBTQ+ campgrounds in the US, from 700-acre men's retreats in the Ozarks to a women-only resort in Michigan's Thumb. This guide covers every one we could verify from the campground's own website: who's welcome, what clothing optional means there, what you can sleep in, what it costs and when the season runs.
