Small-batch experimental brews in a historic Market Square courtyard
Whistle Buoy is a small-batch experimental brewery located in the lower courtyard of Victoria's historic Market Square. Founded in 2019 by five friends, the operation focuses on rotating seasonal releases alongside core favorites like the Coastality Pale Ale and the Low Vis hazy IPA series. The taproom features a large, heated patio that overlooks the heart of the downtown square, with an on-site Grub counter serving a selection of sandwiches and snacks. While not a dedicated LGBTQ+ venue, the brewery is known as a welcoming, gay-friendly space and has previously hosted Pride IPA fundraisers. The brewery is a frequent winner at both the BC Beer Awards and Canadian Brewing Awards.
