EQ San Diego
1271 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92103SubWOOFer 2026 kicks off San Diego's bear Pride weekend on Friday, July 17, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at EQ San Diego, 1271 University Avenue in the heart of Hillcrest. Thrown by Bear Night San Diego, now in its tenth year, SubWOOFer is the warm-up party for the city's bear, cub, and chaser crowd, a high-energy night on EQ's open-air patio with DJs spinning until last call. This is one of the marquee events of San Diego's bear Pride circuit, drawing nearly a thousand guys over the weekend across SubWOOFer and its Saturday sibling, Furrageous. Expect a packed dance floor, go-go talent, strong drinks, and the welcoming, body-positive vibe that has made Bear Night San Diego a fixture of Pride weekend. It is the perfect Friday-night landing spot after the Spirit of Stonewall Rally, when Hillcrest is buzzing and the whole weekend still lies ahead. The party is 21 and up, so bring a valid photo ID. Tickets sell through Bear Night San Diego ahead of time and the event has sold out in past years, so grab yours early rather than risking the door. EQ sits right on University Avenue, easy to reach on the MTS Rapid 215 bus and within walking distance of the Hillcrest bars if you want to keep the night going. Leave the car at home, pace your drinks, and come ready to dance. SubWOOFer is where bear Pride weekend in San Diego officially gets started.
