Nellie's Sports Bar (900 U St NW) is DC's drag brunch institution. Saturday brunch runs at 11 AM and 1 PM seatings, Sunday brunch at 1 PM — all featuring long-running hosts Sapphire Blue and Deja Diamond. Nellie's also runs Drag Bingo on selected Thursdays hosted by Chanel Devereaux. Book ahead — brunches sell out regularly.

Red Bear Brewing Co (209 M St NE, NoMa) runs two recurring drag events: a Drag Race viewing party every Friday at 8 PM with performances between episodes (hosted by Tiffany D. Carter, Druex Sidora, and Frieda Poussay), and Drag Bingo on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Crush Bar (2007 14th St NW) hosts rotating drag shows, drag bingo, and drag karaoke as weekly events on the 14th Street corridor.

The High Heel Race

DC's most iconic drag tradition is the 17th Street High Heel Race, held every year on the Tuesday before Halloween (October 27, 2026). Over 100 costumed queens race down 17th Street NW in Dupont Circle while thousands of spectators cheer. Pre-race drag performances start around 5 PM, the race kicks off at 9 PM. Running since 1986, it's now a city-endorsed event.
