Part of the Gay Washington D.C. Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Washington D.C., Washington D.C.
An Adams Morgan gay sports bar with a rooftop and dance floor.
Pitchers is an LGBTQ+ sports bar in Adams Morgan, a 10,000-square-foot multi-level space opened in 2018 by Dave Perruzza, who spent years as the face of JR's in Dupont. Several bars, a kitchen, patios, pool, darts, and screens for game days fill the building, and a dance floor takes over on weekend nights. Downstairs is A League of Her Own, a lesbian bar that's part of the same complex and one of the few remaining women's bars in the country. Between the two, the building draws a wide queer crowd, sports fans up front and drag and dancing later, with Thirst Trap Thursdays the weekly drag night. For a traveler it's the anchor of Adams Morgan's queer nightlife, an easy place to land whether you're there for a game or a night out.
