Are There Lesbian Bars and Safe Spaces in Los Angeles?

LA's lesbian and queer women's scene is anchored by a couple of dedicated spaces plus a strong network of recurring events and sapphic nights at mixed venues.

Dedicated Lesbian & Queer Women's Spaces

  • Honey's at Star Love (1532 N Western Ave, East Hollywood) — Lesbian-focused cocktail bar inside the Star Love speakeasy, open Thu–Sat. Karaoke, DJ nights, and themed parties spanning reggaeton to indie to pop. One of only two permanent lesbian bars in LA
  • Catch One — Historic venue that originated as a Black lesbian nightclub in the 1970s under founder Jewel Thais-Williams. Now a live music and events venue that maintains its queer roots

Queer Women-Friendly Bars & Restaurants

  • The Ruby Fruit (3510 Sunset Blvd, Silver Lake) — Lesbian-owned natural wine bar and all-day dining spot. Check current hours before visiting
