Boutique multi-discipline studio in an 1897 heritage building on Yates
Annex Fitness occupies a 6,000-square-foot heritage building from 1897 on Yates Street in downtown Victoria — exposed brick, classic archways, and reclaimed West Coast wood throughout. It's a boutique multi-discipline studio, not a chain gym. The founders built it out with local artisans, and the attention shows in details like spa-level bathrooms stocked with Tofino Soap Co. products, cold face towels, and morning coffee in the lobby. Seven class types run under one roof: Spin on 33 bikes, Strength, three Barre formats, Flow Yoga, Mobility, and SOMA, a bodyweight class built as a deliberate counterpoint to hustle-culture fitness. Fight Club is a weekly donation class benefiting BC Cancer Agency. No long-term contracts, and punch passes never expire. Voted Victoria's Best Fitness Studio in 2023.
