Key West, Florida
Chef-owned Mediterranean and Italian bistro in Old Town Key West
Azur is a chef-owned Mediterranean restaurant on Grinnell Street in Old Town Key West, run by Michael Mosi and Drew Wenzel — two chefs who've cooked together for more than 35 years. Mosi brings Tuscan technique from time spent with family in Pistoia, Italy; Wenzel trained under acclaimed chef Marina Boss at Germany's Voss-Haus on the Baltic coast. Before Key West, they co-owned a restaurant in Hamburg for nearly a decade. The menu leans Italian-Mediterranean with Florida Keys seafood front and center: charred octopus with za'atar, yellowtail snapper, truffled gnocchi, and Angus rib eye. A shaded patio sits in a quieter pocket of Old Town, a few blocks off Duval Street — more neighborhood dinner than tourist-strip dining. One of the few genuinely chef-owned restaurants in the Keys.
