Manchester, England
LGBTQ+ owned Canal Street bar with DIVAS drag cabaret and drag brunch
Bar Pop is an independent, LGBTQ+ owned bar at 10 Canal Street, opened in September 2013 by John Hamilton and his husband Antonio. John's been on the Manchester scene for decades and launched the Poptastic club night back in 1996, and the couple also run The Church around the corner on Chorlton Street. The draw here is the drag: the in-house DIVAS cabaret show and the DIVAS drag brunch, with DJs and dancing filling the rest of the week. The bar makes a point of welcoming everyone however they identify, and the owners host regular fundraisers for local charities such as George House Trust and the LGBT Foundation.
