"The Party Palace" on Bloom Street, with drag every night of the week
New York New York has been part of the Village for more than thirty years, on Bloom Street a block back from Canal Street. It calls itself The Party Palace, and the formula is drag and entertainment every night of the week, sing-along music and a crowd that's there to let loose. The bar is owned and run by Tracey Walsh, who was awarded a British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours, and it hosts regular themed charity nights. It's a straightforward, high-energy night out: come for the hosts and the hands-in-the-air music, not a quiet drink.
