Blur Nightclub & Showbar is the anchor of downtown Dunedin's LGBTQ+ scene, on Main Street about 25 miles northwest of Tampa. The location has been a gay bar since 1984 — Dallape's, the first gay bar to open in downtown Dunedin, ran here before Blur — and the room now splits into an indoor dance floor, a separate showbar for drag, and an outdoor patio bar. The weekly calendar mixes drag productions, DJ dance nights, and open-mic-style events. Its real distinction is civic: the Tampa Bay Times credited Blur with helping revitalize downtown Dunedin's business culture, the gay bar that helped a sleepy main street bloom into a walkable nightlife stretch.
