Part of the Gay Tampa Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Tampa, Florida
Ybor City dance club with drag shows and local DJs.
Disco Pony is Ybor City's gay dance club, opened in July 2025 when Southern Nights Tampa left its longtime 7th Avenue home, moved around the corner to North 15th Street, and rebranded. It carries the same DNA: a real dance club with room to move, local and touring DJs, drag performances from local queens and visiting stars, and a rotating lineup of themed nights spanning throwback decades to current hits. The club sits in the heart of Ybor's entertainment district, walkable to the rest of the strip, and pulls the after-dark crowd that wants an actual dance floor rather than a bar that happens to have one. Campy decor and a stage for drag keep things playful. For visitors, it's the main event for late-night dancing in Tampa's gay scene.
