BOYS BAR is a small, high-energy gay bar on Carrer de la Diputació, right on the main strip of Barcelona's Gaixample. The draw is the go-go dancers and the cocktails, with a young, up-for-it crowd packed around the bar and a sound that runs from classic pop to house. It's a compact room rather than a sprawling club, which keeps the night close and social. The programming gives each night its own character, from salsa earlier in the week to the go-go boys on Friday and house DJs on Saturday, and there's a dark room at the back for those who want it. As a pre- or mid-night stop it sits steps from the rest of the Diputació and Consell de Cent bars, so it folds easily into a longer crawl through the gayborhood.
