St. Paul, Minnesota
Lowertown St. Paul bar and cabaret with live entertainment since 2007.
Camp Bar has held down a corner of downtown St. Paul's Lowertown since 2007, nearly two decades as the neighborhood's go-to for live entertainment with a queer-friendly edge. The space splits into a U-shaped front bar, a cabaret room with a small stage and piano, and a sidewalk patio. The calendar runs heavy on comedy through the in-house Laugh Camp Comedy Club, with nationally touring headliners and a long-running Monday open mic. The Cabaret at Camp, programmed in partnership with Actors Theater of Minnesota, brings professional cabaret, drag, and burlesque acts through on a rotating schedule, and midweek nights add music trivia. Kitchen service comes courtesy of neighboring spots like Sawatdee and Black Sheep Pizza. It's the only queer-adjacent venue in downtown St. Paul, drawing a mixed crowd that's kept it a Lowertown staple.
