Minneapolis, Minnesota
Subterranean East Hennepin gay bar, revived in 2022.
Jetset Underground is the 2022 revival of a Minneapolis gay-bar name that first opened in 2001. The original ran in the North Loop until 2018, when its landlord sold the building to developers; after a long search, owner Kirihara reopened it in a subterranean East Hennepin space that spent more than a decade as the nightclub Honey. The room carries fixtures and decor forward from the first location, set against white stone walls and quartzite bar tops. Weeknights skew toward a kitchen-and-cocktails crowd, then Friday and Saturday flip to DJs and a dance floor. Open later in the week, it’s a sleek lounge-meets-dance-club that splits the difference between a quiet drink and a full night out on the east side of the river.
